Marilyn Monroe's Mole
A series of seven posterprints, 100 cm x 100 cm, 2010.

Modern life is strongly formed by digital media. As we dig everyday into digital surroundings, we go back and forth from real to digital matter. Do we really always know in which world we find ourselves? A Google-image of Marilyn Monroe was zoomed to her mole in Photoshop up to 3200% and transformed with six different effects. I repainted each image on canvas with acryl, again scanned the paintings and post-worked the digital paintings in Photoshop, still leaving the marks of the scans (dust, influences of the light) and the strokes of the brush. Filter original, grain, color halftone, texturizer, halftone pattern, graphic pen, stamp.
